Just letting you know that while days are indeed getting longer (yes!!!), the Willamette has a backlog of rain water that is causing the current and level to rise. It’s presently¬†flowing at roughly 2mph, which doesn’t sound like much until you realize that’s 50% of your forward motion when traveling into the current. My recommendation, as always, is to start your paddle facing upstream so you are sure to get back at all. The last thing you want to do is get 50% into your paddle and realize you still have at least 100% of your effort required for the trip back to the car. Unless you need a power workout, then by all means, have at it stud!
